Latitude Product Range
Latitude® makes a range of thermal and acoustic insulation products. These are detailed in seperate sections: "Thermal" and "Acoustic". We also make a range of products for specific applications and these are detailed in the section "Other applications". To allow for the the fact that some countrries use the imperial measurements system we have also included our product information in imperial units.
Note: Changes to the Building Act 2004.
Recently there have been changes made to the Building Code, as it relates to insulation values. Specifically the Department of Building and Housing, in accordance with section 22 of the Building Act 2004, has issued new compliance documents.
From an insulation perspective the important changes are defined in the section known as "Clause H1". This is the section that deals with energy efficiency. The document can be obtained from the Department of Building and Housing and is entitled "Compliance Document for New Zealand Building Code Clause H1 Energy efficiency - Third Edition". This document provides specific information on the required R value for the Building Envelope and a methodology for determining the actual R value of the insulation required in specific applications eg wall, ceiling etc.
A further change is the addition of a third climate zone. New Zealand is now divided into 3 climate zones, which broadly are the South Island and the Upper and Lower North Island. The changes as defined by clause H1 are being introduced progressively, with Zone 3 (the South island) being effective on the 1st November 2007. Zones 1 and 2 will be introduced progressively during 2008.
