Supply

After manufacture Latitude® insulation is packed into polythene packs for storage and distribution.  Installation instructions, R-value, size of contents and area that can be covered are printed on the outside of the pack.  For transportation the Latitude® bags are vacuum packed into wool bales.  These wool bales are known as wool fadges.  There are generally 2 Latitude®bags in each fadge.  Wool fadges are robust and they make freighting and handling easier.  The images below show the Latitude®bag and the wool fadges containing 2 Latitude®bags.

Unpacking

To remove the Latitude® bags from the transportation fadges we have provided the following guidelines which we have developed from our own experience.  You may find a better way.  If you do please let us know!

Storage

Latitude®should be removed from the fadges when it is received to ensure that the insulation is able to restore to its full nominal thickness.  Latitude® insulation must not become wet, either during storage, installation or in service.  If it does become wet it must be removed and thoroughly dried before being installed.  Latitude® insulation must be installed no later than six months after manufacture
